Service in Music Scholarship


The Brothers of Epsilon Nu - Kappa Kappa Psi wish to reward outstanding band members of the University of Massachusetts. We have established a scholarship in order to honor those who exemplify service and leadership amongst the the musical ensembles of the University. The scholarship. The amount is $250.00 for those who show outstanding achievement their instrument(s) and contribute positively to the music department, specifically in the large instrumental ensembles.

The prerequisites for the application process are as follows:

  1. Current Enrollment in one of the following ensembles:
    • University Orchestra
    • Wind Ensemble
    • Symphony Band
    • Concert Band
    • Marching Band
    • Hoop Band
    • Jazz Ensemble I
    • Chapel Jazz Ensemble
    • Jazz Lab Ensemble
  2. Applicant must be at least a sophomore, and recognized as such by the university.
  3. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student. (12 credits or more)
  4. Applicant must submit two (2) letters of recommendation from music department faculty in addition to application form.
All applications are due by April 1st, 2010. Please submit all application materials in a sealed envelope to the following address:

If you feel you qualify and wish to submit an application you may pick one up in the music department office (Fine Arts Center 2??) or download an electronic copy here. The scholarship will be awarded during the music department convocation at the end of the spring semester.
